A
note on Regional Differences
Just as there are regional differences in pronunciation of English words in the United States, there are also regional or global differences in pronunciation of Spanish words. Since more Americans use Spanish in the United States itself or in Latin or Central America for business purposes or pleasure, this course will teach Latin American pronunciations and not Castilian pronunciations. Castilian pronunciations are those from Central and Northern Spain. There are minor differences in pronunciation among some Latin American countries like there are with English in various regions of the United States, but they are not very numerous.
